After the end of my journey with Neat, I began thinking not only about how we record today, but also how we listen. With the advent of mobile audio and smart cellular devices and the increasing portability and power of home computers, we’re seeing an entirely new and ever expanding group of customers. The digital content boom via iTunes, YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, etc., now gives users the power to self-advertise and promote their recordings, homemade broadcasts (podcasts), and videos. It’s not just a whole new era, it’s a whole new future.
Stray Electrons is our new endeavor to address this rapidly expanding market. We’ve assembled a group of highly talented individuals that I’ve known for decades, people with engineering, design, production, marketing, and distribution skills that amaze me. They’re like an all-star band, and I’m really excited to be working with them.
Together, we’re going to change the way people capture audio content and about how they think about recording. We’ll be designing products that sound (and look!) amazing, are easy to use, and work seamlessly across the wide variety of platforms and devices that shape the way we create and consume sound. I think it’ll be amazing, and I can’t wait for you to hear what I see. Stay tuned.
